The Safety Excellence Award includes the following criteria:

- A positive OSHA history
- Incidence rates below the national average
In 2004, BOTHAR Construction LLC achieved national recognition from The Associated General Contractors of America, receiving a First Place Award for Safety Excellence in the Highway Division under 100,000 Hours.
